Why is the network weak despite a fast subscription?
Most complaints that “the internet is weak” are not about the service provider but about an internal distribution that was never designed. A single router in the corner of the house does not cover two floors and a garden, and a range extender doubles the problem because it rebroadcasts a signal that was already weak. The engineering answer is distributed access points fed by cable, not extra devices plugged into sockets.
Structured cabling
We use Cat6 or Cat6A according to distance and load, with a numbered and documented patch panel. The numbering is not a luxury: it is what turns a fault three years from now into a fifteen-minute job instead of a whole day.
Access points and coverage
We set the number and position of access points from the building drawing, the wall materials and the expected number of devices, with smooth roaming between them so the connection does not drop as you move.
Separation and protection
In facilities we separate the guest network from the working network and from the camera network. Separation stops a guest slowing down the point-of-sale system, and stops a compromised device becoming a door into the rest of the network.
Documentation and handover
The project is handed over with a point drawing, a numbering schedule and test results for every port, and it is kept in your client portal.
Facilities and offices that need managed switches, network separation and fibre between buildings will find the detail on the enterprise networks and switches page, which sits under the wider low-current systems umbrella.
