First: is the site connected to the internet?
Remote viewing needs internet at the camera site, not only on your phone. If the location’s internet dropped or the router restarted, no stream reaches your phone even though local recording continues. Check that the site router is running and the recorder is connected to it.
Second: has the password changed?
If you recently changed the recorder or camera password, the app is still trying to sign in with the old one and failing. Update the credentials in the app. This is a recurring cause after any maintenance or reset.
Third: the app itself
- Is the app on its latest version? An old version can stop working.
- Try closing it completely and reopening, or signing out and back in.
- Make sure your phone has a working connection (try mobile data and Wi-Fi).
- Re-add the device in the app by QR code or identifier (UID) if needed.
Fourth: the recorder and its setup
The recorder may have lost its remote-viewing configuration (P2P), or the service has stopped, or its connection to the manufacturer’s servers has dropped. Go into the network settings on the recorder and confirm the status reads “online”. Restarting the recorder resolves many of these cases.
When is the fault really in the camera?
If the camera does not appear even on the local screen at the site, then and only then are we talking about a fault in the camera, its cable or its power — and that is a different case with its own diagnosis.
